Cajun Seasoning Rub

Cajun Cuisine has its roots in Louisiana where French Canadians had to resettle after being forced out of Canada by the British. There are probably many different versions of Cajun spice mixes as there are cooks. Try ours sprinkled over chicken or fish or mixed with oil to make a marinade for BBQ meats such as pork chops.

INGREDIENTS: A blend of Kylemore Acres Herbs. Ground Cumin, Paprika, Celery Salt, Cayenne Pepper,  Black Pepper.

Our Recipe:

Use as a dry rub on chicken fillets, salmon fillets, swordfish, pork chops or lamb steaks.

Flatten chicken fillets, chops or steaks with a meat mallet/tenderizer. Thoroughly mix rub and spread onto a plate. Coat fish, chicken, chops or steaks with Cajun Seasoning Rub. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in heavy skillet until very hot. Pan fry fish, chicken or steaks 3 minutes each side and chops 4-5 minutes each side until done.

Cajun Salmon or chicken is delicious served in a Caesar salad (Cos lettuce, Parmesan cheese, croutons and Caesar dressing).
